Is the RepRapper Glow PLA worth it for display models?
I am looking to print novelty figures and room nightlights for my kids. Does the rainbow transition really show well on smaller figures, and is it easy to feed without jamming?

Answered on: 2026-09-19Yes, it produces great results for display models. The base filament looks clean white in daylight, but once charged with UV light or a strong lamp, the multicolored gradient glow looks vivid and smooth. When setting up your printer for detailed models, using RepRapper Glow White to Rainbow PLA 1.75mm 1kg with a standard nozzle temp around 205°C and bed at 50°C yields reliable layer consistency with zero stringing, making it an excellent choice for ornamental and decorative prints.

It prints just like regular PLA. Just make sure to dry the spool for a few hours before starting if you live in a humid environment.
